- Description
-
Morland Mixité Capitale transforms a former administrative building from the late 1950s into a vibrant mixed-use destination in the centre of Paris. Rather than replacing the existing structure, the project builds upon its architectural and material qualities, demonstrating how adaptive reuse can support the long-term evolution of the city. Situated between Boulevard Morland and the Seine, the project opens the previously inaccessible site through a network of public routes, courtyards and entrances that reconnect the block to its surroundings. Housing, workplaces, cultural programmes, public facilities, shops and hospitality are combined to create a diverse urban environment animated throughout the day. Arcades, colonnades, roof terraces and gardens extend the public realm and reinterpret familiar Parisian urban elements in a contemporary manner. Through the integration of mixed use, public accessibility and adaptive reuse, the project proposes a model for urban transformation that strengthens both the social and spatial life of the city.
