Description

The Hoffbauer Foundation campus in Kleinmachnow transforms a former Siemens site into a sustainable place for learning, living and community. Across 6.2 hectares, existing school buildings, new sports facilities and around 120 apartments are integrated into a coherent structure. At its centre lies a green, socially appropriated ribbon, which is strengthened and developed into a landscaped spine connecting buildings, open spaces and uses. Reorganised paths and the relocation of the delivery area create a largely traffic-free interior, forming a safe and continuous space for movement, recreation and encounter. The campus programme is clearly structured, bringing together learning, living and leisure. In the east, sports facilities are consolidated and expanded with a new double sports hall above the existing one. In the west, three ring-shaped residential buildings add around 120 apartments, forming distinct neighbourhoods with shared courtyards that encourage interaction. Open spaces, sports areas and an open-air auditorium along the green spine establish the social centre of the campus. The project transforms the former industrial site into an integrated educational landscape, where architecture, landscape and community form a shared spatial identity.
